J&E Companies is a sheet metal and fabrication company. We are a leader in the sheet metal and fabrication industry and have four facilities around the Twin Cities. We currently have an immediate need for a Laser Operator for our Shakopee plant. Pay is depending on experience. This is a direct hire position and comes with a full benefits package.

Purpose: This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of the Trumpf Truflow 6000 laser cutting machine with tower.

• Set up and operate Trumpf laser machine

• Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day’s production.

• Load and unload machines.

• Verify machine settings by measuring positions and first-run parts.

• Inspect and measure parts to ensure blueprint specifications are met.

• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.

• Comply with all company processes, procedures, quality directives and safety procedures.

• Must be aware of, and work to, established set-up and part per hour run times, and part quality requirements as established on work orders.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision

• Support and participate in ISO initiatives

• Operate a forklift as required to move raw and finished goods..

• Other Duties as assigned

• 3 Years of experience with Trumpf Laser or other similar Laser Machines (Amada, Hans, etc.)

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Ability to use measuring instruments (e. g. gauges, micrometers, calipers).

• Willing to train the right candidate who is motivated and has a desire to learn.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand entire shift
