J&E’s precision metal spinning services are an ideal solution for the manufacturing of custom agricultural equipment and farming tools. Through advanced CNC metal spinning and roll forming processes, we are able to accurately produce/reproduce the complex shapes and geometries required in many industrial agriculture components. This holds true even when dealing with thick, difficult-to-work metals – such as these 26” complex metal spun cones which we formed from quarter-inch thick 3003-H14 aluminum.
Utilized in a specific veterinary/agriculture application, these custom metal spun cones required outstanding strength combined with excellent resistance to corrosion – hence the choice of 3003-H14 aluminum. Close tolerances were also demanded at ±.030” for flatness of the cone shape. Simultaneously, we had to minimize secondary, post-production finishing processes while also maintaining a premium milled finish with the final product.

For this particular contract manufacturing project, we utilized our 8,000-watt fiber laser cutter system. J&E’s custom laser cutting capabilities offer the accuracy and repeatability required for precision agricultural tools and equipment. Another vital tool in J&E’s stable is our DENN Model ZENN CNC lathe, which was used to spin the 26” aluminum cones. Once we formed each blank to proper shape and tolerances, we machined complex slots and tapped holes. Finally, we finished off the components with various precision grinding and metal finishing processes, yielding premium components accentuated with a quality milled finish.
